Casper Ankergren, Bruno and Inigo Calderon have all signed new one-year contracts with the club. The three have resumed pre-season training at the club’s brand new American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing, and are set to feature in Saturday’s pre-season curtain raiser at Lewes. Albion manager Sami Hyypia said: “Casper, Bruno and Inigo have been important members of the squad in recent years, and I am pleased they have agreed terms with club for another year. “They’re experienced heads with a lot of games between them, they know the Championship well and they give us continuity within the squad. “I had a limited knowledge of all three, but David and Nathan have given me some sound input on the entire squad - including the three of them. “Having had a chance to review a number of DVDs from last season, I can see their qualities and I am sure they’ll continue to be key for us in the season ahead.” Ankergren joined Albion on a free transfer on August 6, 2010, after previous spells at Leeds United, along with Brondby and Koge in his native Denmark. The 34-year-old has made a total of 75 appearances for the Seagulls to date and his has been given another one-year contract. Bruno is entering his third season with the Albion after arriving from Valencia on a free transfer on June 26, 2012. The 33-year-old has been an integral part of the club’s recent consecutive play-off finishes, making a total of 64 appearances for the Seagulls and scoring two goals after spending three years at the Mestalla. Inigo Calderon is currently the longest-serving player in the squad having joined the club midway through the 2009-10 season, making his debut in the 2-1 victory at Walsall on January 16, 2010. He has made a total of 171 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring 15 goals after playing for the likes of Alaves and Alicante in his native Spain.
