Bognor charity shops given crime prevention advice

CHARITY shop owners have been warned to remove any cash from their premises overnight after a store in Bognor Regis was broken into.

The burglary of the British Heart Foundation shop in the London Road precinct took place on July 30, as reported in the Observer.

Thieves broke in and stole around £200 from the safe.

They also caused damage to the shop’s frontage as well as some of its stock.

A spokeswoman for Sussex police said the break in showed even charity shops had to take precautions against criminals.

Police would urge other charity shops to ensure any cash is removed from the premises overnight and signs to this effect placed in the window.
