The Littlehampton Local History Society will hold its annual general meeting, at the Friends’ Meeting House, Church Street, from 7.30pm. This will be followed by the Professor John Roberts Memorial Lecture, given by Dr Alan Simmonds, of Hull University, entitled Conscientious Objectors, World War One. It will be the first annual lecture in memory of the Littlehampton historian, who died, aged 83, in March last year. Prof Roberts, of White Horses Way, had a distinguished academic career in this country and in Canada.
